A graduate from Havard, she is our resident expert in business litigation. Pip has specialised in criminal defence work for nearly 40 years. He started his career as a managing clerk at Offenbach Solicitors in the West End way back in 1983, moving later to work for Lee Barnet Needleman in Marylebone. In 1993 he decided to qualify as a solicitor. She completed her Training Contract at Hornby Ackroyd & Levy in Brixton, was admitted as a Solicitor in 1997, and then employed by Irving & Co in Kentish Town as an Assistant Solicitor. When Irving & Co decided to close their criminal department in 2002 Pip, together with colleague Claire Bissett, took the brave step to set up their own firm specialising in criminal defence work – Evans Bissett Solicitors, based in Kentish Town. When you need your business protected, she's who you want in your corner. Pip is an ‘old school’ practitioner. He remains tenacious in his work and approachable to his clients and their families. He is committed to striving to secure a just outcome for his clients, whatever the nature of the allegations they are facing, and believes that a fair and properly funded criminal justice system is a vital part of a democratic society.
Claire brings a strong results-oriented background to our firm. Her record speaks for itself. she qualified as a solicitor in 1988 and has specialised in criminal defence work throughout her career. She trained at Dundon Ede and Studdert and later worked at Sheratte Caleb. She was a founding partner at Bullivant and Partners. In 2002 she and Pip Evans joined forces to set up Evans Bissett Solicitors,
Claire works within an experienced team and acknowledges the advantages of a collaborative approach to many of the problems posed by prosecutions. She retains an enthusiasm and passion for her work notwithstanding the constraints felt by criminal practitioners in recent years. She has a no-nonsense approach to criminal defence work and continues to relish the cut and thrust of challenging the authorities.
Pat will work directly with you to make sure you get the services you need. Patricia specialised in family law throughout her career. She was one of the founders of Evans Bissett Solicitors in 2002 and has a long standing connection with the Islington area. Patricia is a Resolution trained Family Mediator who mediates on all issues (children and financial matters) and a Collaboratively trained lawyer. She is a Law Society accredited Family Mediator. Patricia’s aim is to provide structured and effective advice and support. She has an empathetic approach and will help you to resolve your financial and other issues in a constructive, robust but conciliatory way. She will help you to explore your aims to make sure they are realistic and achievable, and will help to find practical solutions for dealing with issues as they arise. She is happy to help you whether your case is straightforward or complex.
